What would a guitar player's life be without endless search? The new guitar prepared for Robert “Litza” Friedrich from the band LUXTORPEDA, despite having much in common with the Litza I model, is a totally different instrument. The basic material used here is Korina wood seasoned for many years. It is a neck through body construction, with a five-piece neck (3 pieces of Korina and 2 pieces of Mahogany) running throughout the whole body length.
Making an entirely new project, we kept a lot of elements known from the previous Litza I model. The fretboard, pickup rings, cover plates and wooden details of decorative inlays are all made of rosewood. The “IHS” symbol this time is not golden, but made of aged stainless steel. Every smallest piece of this guitar – originally new and shiny – has been aged by hand to give the instrument a unique look of a true rock and roll veteran.
This time, instead of a Bigsby and P-90, we installed a Floyd Rose Original tremolo bridge with a pair of active EMG 57/66 pickups. The neck is slightly slimmed down (19mm/21mm), but the nut width is R3 (43mm) rather than the more common, narrower R2. The Litza 2 model, however, is not a light and easy racing guitar – it's a working tool that, according to Robert's own words “has some mighty punch”.
